Menu for Week of March 22- March 27, 2021

This week marks the first anniversary of Fresh Market Kitchen being open in Selkirk, Ontario. What a year it has been! After months of hard work and determination, Caveman Rob and Chef Casey transformed what was once a hardware store and then a motorcycle shop into a beautiful and welcoming open kitchen. One could never have predicted that when Fresh Market Kitchen opened March 23, 2020, it would be in the midst of the chaos of a global pandemic. To commemorate this momentous occasion, the Fresh Market Kitchen family is extremely proud to have a re-do and OFFICIALLY open our Market Kitchen to all of you and serve some cake and cappuccino. Indeed we do realize a ribbon-cutting ceremony is something normally reserved for a grand opening, but surviving the first year in any food business is challenging enough…try opening during a global pandemic! As such, we are going to take the opportunity this Saturday, March 27th to officially greet and welcome all of you (Covid-style of course please) into our kitchen, the way we had originally intended. We look forward to introducing ourselves to you and, most importantly, thank you personally for keeping our spirits up and allowing us to do what we love the most every day for the past year.

Aside from the two weeks Fresh Market Kitchen took a break for two weeks over Christmas, were you aware Chef Casey has designed a new menu every single week for the past 52 weeks, creating over 410 different menu items. We look forward to many, many more this year. No matter what has changed over the year through restrictions and constant changes related to the pandemic, the one thing that has remained constant at Fresh Market Kitchen is our commitment to producing quality meals made from scratch with zero food waste. We have explored many cuisines from around the world over this past year and reinvented some classic comfort dishes, and we hope you have enjoyed every one you have tried! We will continue to push even harder this year to always provide you with exciting and varied seasonal dishes, Family Style With Style, the Fresh Market Kitchen way!


Fresh Market Kitchen is pleased to remind you that our BBQ @ Home Packs have hit our freezers and are available for pickup from our Market Kitchen. Succulent Coconut Curry Chicken Skewers (all breast meat, dairy-free and gluten-free), Triple B Burgers (beef brisket and bacon, gluten-free) and our Classic 1/2 LB Beef patties are ready! We even have frozen kaisers from our favourite Italian bakery in packs of 4 available.

All Things Bagel!

We have teamed up with The Bagel Oven based in Beamsville, Ontario. This is a family-run business that specializes in handmade authentic Jewish bagels. Think Montreal-style bagels! To complement your bagels, we are also offering European cream cheese, homemade Meyer Lemon marmalade and, beginning this week, our delicious homemade selection of hummus. We will be able to offer preorders IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE for your bagels, stuffed twists, bagel chips and cream cheese on our website for pickup from our Market Kitchen Saturdays, as we will be picking up our bagels on a Friday for the weekend rush. In the meantime, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays (while supplies last), you will be able drop-in to our Market Kitchen and purchase freshly-frozen bagels for your home!!

Update on Favourite Chef Competition:

As you know, Chef Casey had been hand-selected for the opportunity to compete at a shot at $50,000, a two-page magazine feature and the title of Favourite Chef 2021. With your unwavering support, Chef Casey had advanced into the Top 5 in her group,making it to Round Three. Although she did not advance to the Quarter-Finals, we guarantee you she feels like she is a first-place winner through all of the love and support each and every one of you provided to her in person while in the kitchen, through private messages on our social media and personal emails. Your support is incomparable! Thank you so very much!

Another very popular classic Fresh Market Kitchen dish. This dish is made with hand-cut Ontario pork, marinated for 24 hours in freshly-squeezed lemon juice, light canola oil and hand-selected Greek spices served with Basmati rice cooked in homemade chicken stock and steamed lemons. A
