Menu for week of March 1 – March 6, 2021

Welcome to March! Spring is quickly approaching. It is just two more weeks until Daylight Savings Time begins – longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures mean, for a lot of folks, it is time to reclaim their outdoor space and dust off the ole BBQ – Fresh Market Kitchen is pleased to let you know that our BBQ @ Home Packs have hit our freezers and are available for pickup from our kitchen. Succulent Coconut Curry Chicken Skewers (all breast meat and gluten-free), Triple B Burgers (beef brisket and bacon, gluten-free) and our Classic 1/2 LB Beef patties are ready! We even have frozen kaisers from our favourite Italian bakery in packs of 4 available.

Update on Favourite Chef Competition:

As you may know, Chef Casey had been hand-selected for the opportunity to compete for a shot at $50,000 (was $20K originally but the stakes have increased!!), a two-page magazine feature and the title of Favourite Chef 2021. Chef Casey made it into the Top 15 in her group, thanks to your votes and has advanced to Round Two. There will be no hot meal this evening; however, the kitchen will be open for pickups.  We currently have a wide variety of meals and soup available from our freezer, so head over to our website and reserve yours now.  Get a jump on your freezer stock of BBQ @ Home burgers!!

Thursday, March 4, 2021:
Lunch Soup & Sandwich (11:00 AM – 2 PM)

Sandwich: Cuban Sandwich – Ham, sliced Mojo pork loin (made in-house), Swiss cheese and house sweet pickles on grilled Panini bread with dijonnaise $10.00 !

Soup: Saffron Potato Leek (topped with optional chili oil) (GF/Veg) $5.00

Savoury house-marinated Shawarma chicken on a bed of tumeric rice drizzled with housemade garlic sauce.

Mexican-style lean ground Ontario beef on a bed of lettuce topped with cheese, diced tomato, green onions, sour cream and a lime wedge served in a house-baked edible tortilla bowl $14.00

Friday, March 5, 2021:
Supper (4:30– 6:00 PM)

Heat At Home “Pizza” Penne Pasta Bake:
Penne pasta with Italian sausage, pepperoni and sweet red pepper in a tomato sauce topped with more sausage, more pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. (Bake at home 350F @ 20-30 mins)

Saturday, March 6, 2021: 
Kitchen Market (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

We will be baking butter tarts this Saturday for you to purchase beginning at 1 pm until sold out.  (Sorry, but no preorders for butter tarts will be taken.) 

Pickles, soups and quiches as well as any frozen meals from our freezer will be available.

All Day Smoked Chicken Wings

Real cherry-wood smoked chicken wings tossed in your choice of Steeltown Smokers’ very own housemade “Midgett BBQ Sauce” or “Under Duress BBQ Sauce” with crudité of carrots and celery served with housemade Bluecheese dip (served from 1:00 PM – 5:45 pm today) – RESERVATIONS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLEASE!!  $15/pound

Add Family Caesar Salad $10

As always, our BBQ is always from scratch and smoked over real cherry wood on premises.  One pound of Steeltown Smokers/Fresh Market Kitchen wings = 6 full wings (drum and flat intact – we never split our wings apart, preserving all of the natural juice in the meat).

“Under Duress” BBQ sauce (less spicy and more of a vinegar-based bbq sauce as opposed to tomato-based like our Midgett sauce)
