Menu for Week of June 14 – June 20, 2021

Here’s the menu email you’ve been waiting for! Just a reminder that our hours have slightly changed for the summer season. We will only be open until 2 PM on a Wednesday as opposed to 6 PM. BIG NEWS!!!!! Beginning Sunday, June 20, 2021, we will also be open on a Sunday from 9 am until 1:30 serving breakfast to go! Scroll down to see what’s for breakfast June and July! New menu in August. We will also begin opening our door for those who just need to grab a coffee and perhaps a toasted bagel on a Saturday and Sunday morning around 7:30 AM. Our website reservation system will be updated with the current week’s menu by Monday at noon. Chef Casey and her team is relaxing for the rest of the day today.

Friday – 11-6 (Lunch & Supper) This Friday is International Sushi Day, so we will be making available fresh sushi to add to your Friday night supper. Details of selection and pricing will be available closer to Friday this week. If you are a sushi lover and want to make sure Chef Casey has your favourites available, please send her a message ASAP!.

Saturday – 8 – 4 On Saturdays, we will open our door at around 7:30/8:00 am for those who need to pop in and grab a coffee and and a toasted bagel. Our homemade flakies, buttertarts and slushies will be available from 11 AM. We also run our Market Grill on Saturday, where Chef Casey will be cooking a Lunch Feature from our Market Grill from 12-4 pm.

Sunday – 8 – 1:30 Sunday Summer Brunch – We will open our door at around 7:30/8:00 am for those who need to pop in and grab a coffee and a toasted bagel or flakie and a buttertart (if we have any left from Saturday!). Brunch will be available beginning at 9:00 am. This Sunday, Father’s Day, is our first Sunday Summer Brunch day, and I would highly recommend placing a reservation via our website to avoid disappointment. We are prepping for a busy day. Pre-orders for our lunches and suppers are always recommended; as you know, we have a zero food-waste policy here in the kitchen, and Chef Casey personally shops for and hand picks every single ingredient for use in our kitchen, buying only what is necessary for that week’s menu and a bit extra in case of last minute orders. But that’s it…when it’s gone, IT IS GONE. To avoid disappointment, please feel free to reserve your dishes early – not only does it ensure you get the meal you are looking for; it also helps with our meal prep and shopping trips as we cook from scratch. No deep fryer, no crock pots and no microwave in our kitchen. Just good old-fashioned home cooking with a professional flare. Family style with style is how we roll!!

We love that you are enjoying the handmade bagels we carry from The Bagel Oven based in Beamsville, Ontario. This is a family-run business that specializes in handmade authentic Jewish bagels. Other Refreshing and Fun Beverages

Birthday Cake and Java Chip Frappuccinos!  A Frappuccino is a blended ice beverage. Refreshing as heck and can be made with milk substitutions such as coconut milk, soy beverage and almond milk (hold the whip)!  Try a Java Chip, made with our housemade coffee ice cubes and chocolate or a birthday cake frappuccino. We also make our own lemonade and have a really refreshing Passion Tea Lemonade. We are also serving up Slushies (different flavour daily) and freezies made in-house!

Currently available Saturdays only now available in four flavours (Ontario Peach, Quebec Wild Blueberry, Raspberry and Ontario Sour Cherry) are our homemade Flakies – these are are generously filled with our housemade vanilla whipped cream with a lovely sprinkling of powdered sugar.  As we never make our whipped cream with animal-based stabilizers thus maintaining a vegetarian food item, these are only offered on a Saturday, but we will do our best to allow preorders of Flakies.  Just send us a text with your name and how many of each Flakie you’d like to (289) 426-0845.

This Saturday, Chef Casey and Caveman Rob will be firing up Cinderella (our beloved smoker) and offering up cherry-wood smoked RIBS!!!! Chef Casey preps fresh Ontario pork side ribs, hand trimming each rack to a St. Louis cut and dry marinates them overnight with her own housemade rub. Caveman Rob then takes over and smokes and sets the sauce on the ribs for a perfect fall-off-the-bone consistency. We are projecting to be ready to serve ribs beginning at 1 PM. Reservations are, as always, highly recommended.

Enjoy Genoa salami, prosciutto and rosemary ham, arugula and muffuletta piled on a calabrese bun. Served with a can of pop. This is a cold-cut sandwich. It is meant to be served and eaten cold but we can certainly toast it up for you if you prefer! Stuffed Sweet Red Bell Peppers:

Ontario Beef  stuffed sweet red bell peppers with homemade tomato basil sauce (GF) sprinkled with freshly-grated parmesan cheese. There is nothing simple to this classic comfort dish! We only use Arborio rice in our stuffed peppers and all Ontario beef! This week, our sauce is made with San Marzano tomatoes and basil!! This dish freezes and reheats beautifully.
